Wingu Academy is excited to offer a unique opportunity for student teachers to join our Student Success Advisor (SSA) Department as part of our Studentship Program. This program is designed to provide you with hands-on experience, training, and a pathway to a future teaching career at Wingu. The experience will set you apart from the crowd when you start applying for teaching roles after your studies, and the experience in an EdTech environment is invaluable!
As an SSA, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring students in our online learning environment. You’ll be offering subject-specific advice, helping students set and achieve their academic goals, and ensuring they stay on track. This role combines the skills of teaching, mentoring, and administration, allowing you to build a solid foundation for your future teaching career.

Key Responsibilities
? Provide academic support to students from various grades, focusing on personalized learning strategies.
? Guide students in effective task and time management, helping them set and achieve SMART goals.
? Monitor student progress, encourage engagement, and assist with overcoming challenges.
? Conduct weekly mentoring sessions, ensuring students stay on target with their academic goals.
? Use online tools and resources to manage and track student development.

Attend training and development sessions to improve teaching methodologies.
? Offer both online support and practical training opportunities at the Smart School in Centurion.

Requirements
? Currently registered BEd or PGCE student.
? South African citizen aged 19 to 29.
? Unemployed and available for part-time or full-time.
? Passionate about education and mentorship.
? Strong communication and organizational skills.
? Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
? Enthusiastic about online learning and innovative educational practices.
? Willingness to learn and adapt to new teaching methodologies.
? Must be proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to contribute to student success.

Preferred Qualities
? Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring is an advantage.
? Strong technological skills and comfort with online platforms.
? Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
? A positive, growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile.
