A God fearing dedicated, result oriented 33-year-old, married man who has managed to transform the capacity of Bulawayo veterinary Laboratory from being a screening Laboratory to a laboratory that now has the ability to confirm an elevated number of tests, ranging from Bacteriology to Virology. As a senior technologist I have since participated in a number of Quality management systems (ISO 17025) related workshops. This has led to release of quality results, hence eradication of spread of diseases. I have had my interests in the applied Microbiology and biotechnology fields. I have helped a vast number of student interns in carrying out their final year projects (dissertations). I worked as a High school sciences teacher from May 2010 to May 2012 helping create a scientific mind at a tender age. I have conducted a considerably high number of bacteriological tests to deem me competent and hence ability to fill the gaps that may either rise due to test failures or any other causes. I also have a vast number of in house training to complement the management system that is employed at CVL which is an accredited veterinary laboratory, being the major laboratory in Zimbabwe. As senior personnel I have had an opportunity to actually cover and perform a variable number of tests from the following sections within our laboratory, these include Serology, Bacteriology, Rabies and Parasitology. In the Rabies section the major test covered is the Direct Rapid Immunohistochemically test (DRIT) upon which I happen to be amongst the pioneer individuals to run the tests in parallel with the FAT test. In Parasitology section I have gained an insight in testing and identifying parasites that cause and lead to Tick - borne diseases and also some bacterial species, these parasites amongst others are Anaplasma, Erhlichia ruminantium, Babesia species, Theilleria, Clostridium species and Bacillus anthracis. Also in parasitology section I have done worm egg counts using both the Floatation and Sedimentation techniques. We also have Lab developed methods to check for coccidiosis in Avian caecum and Rabbit liver. The RoseBengal plate agglutination test is one of the Serological tests that I am very familiar with. Bacteriology is my personal stronghold and can conduct any tests that can be requested from bacterial culture, isolation and identification of bacterial species up to AMR tests. I have performed a number of food microbiology tests including water analysis which was a core role during my work related learning for 18 months at Criterion Laboratory Bulawayo City Council.
