I am currently working as a GIS Specialist at Total Geo-Spatial Information Solutions. I hold Bachelor of Science degree in GIS and Geology, an Honours and master’s degrees in Applied Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). My honours project was based on Biodiversity, it was titled: Mapping and Monitoring Spartina maritima encroachment in the Swartkops Estuary, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. My Master’s project was titled: Multi-temporal Assessment of Spatial Changes in the Distribution of Vegetation in the Swartkops Estuary. I enjoyed my studies and learnt a lot of experience from multidisciplinary expects which strengthened my ability to work as a team and as an individual. I am very passionate about GIS, Remote Sensing (Multispectral and Hyperspectral RS), physical characteristics of the earth and their interaction with nature and climate (Physical geography). With GIS and Applied Remote Sensing making things more fascinating and interesting for earth observations and spatial analysis, I believe it would be more enjoyable to share this knowledge and experience with students who are hungry for knowledge. I have 7 years’ experience in GIS and Remote Sensing Satellite Imagery classification, spatial analysis, mapping, database management and statistical analysis using PlanetGIS, Assetrix, ArcGIS, ENVI, ERDAS and QGIS software. I have advanced knowledge in both GIS and Remote Sensing which makes it easy and enjoyable for me to collect, analyse, retrieve, and manipulate GIS data into GIS information and manage it through Database Management System (DBMS) and most important to transfer the knowledge effectively. I am an initiative and self-motivated person, flexible in working with a team and as an individual, advanced presentation and networking skills, critical thinking and enjoying teaching. With my passion for Earth Observations, background in Mathematics, Computer science, GIS, Remote Sensing and Project Management I can be a freelancer in these fields.
