Vuyisile is a Social Science Masters graduate from the University of Cape Town. He has extensive experience in broad socio-economic development and environmental management and assessments. Vuyisile has over 20 years of experience in Social and community development programmes, public participation facilitation and community mobilization, developing training materials, capacity development and social research in various institutions such as the University of Cape Town (Environmental Evaluation Unit) as Social researcher and policy analyst, United Nations Development Programme (GEF/SGP) as National Co-ordinator, Mazizi Msutu & Associates, as Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager, among others. He also attended and has been trained in several short courses in the Social Performance field within Shell Dutch Royal company, such as i) Social Performance in the Community (Nigeria) ii) Social Performance in Action (Rio de Janeiro) iii) Master Class in HSSE Global Leadership Course (Cambridge in London) iv) Leader of Teams course (The Hague in Netherlands). He has extensive experience in working with the corporate sector, academic institutions, consulting firms and community based organizations. His skills in the broad development field in general and environmental and community development in particular have been further developed by his involvement in various senior leadership positions and interactions with the National, Provincial and Local government stakeholders in South Africa. He also has extensive experience in the fields of Project Planning, Management and Evaluation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Vuyisile also specializes in Social Labour Plans, Relocation and Resettlement Plans, Indigenous Peoples’ Plans, Religious Resources Impact Assessments and Public Participation Processes
