I pride myself on my determined, dynamic and self-reliant nature. I am able to work under pressure and thrive within deadline driven environments. I am a friendly person with a natural ability to engage at all levels. Relationships are very important to me as I believe it promotes sound work ethics. I can work on my own or as part of a team. I use my initiative and take responsibility for my duties and actions. I am a keen learner and able to adapt to organisational changes. With over 30 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain management including 10 years within an engineering and steel procurement firm, I am able to add significant value by not only quickly mastering my responsibilities, but by critically analysing the existing processes. While I have come to understand that processes are often unique to a firm’s circumstances, I believe I would be able to further streamline and ultimately cut costs. I am proficient in a number of ERP systems, including Syspro, Pastel, Accpac as well as various in-house programs. I have extensive experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation as well as contract management for which my communication and relationship building skills have served me well. I have completed a number of professional development courses, including the South African Production and Inventory Control Society (SAPICS) exams, Executive Problem Solving as well as the renowned 7 Habits of Highly Effective People personal leadership development course. In addition to my technical knowledge and experience, I believe I am a calm, honest and approachable individual who has successfully managed teams to achieve their goals, both in a professional and personal context. I am confident that I would experience a near seamless transition and become a vital asset to the firm in a relatively short period of time. Thank you for your consideration.
