I am a Senior Materials Technician holding a BTech degree and currently Pursuing Master of Engineering (Research in Pavement and Materials Engineering). I have submitted my Professional Technologist application to ECSA in July 2021 and I am waiting on the outcome of the assessment, which I believe will be positive. My extensive knowledge of industry standards results from Sanral’s well-coordinated policies and information management systems, high working standards and expectations from the design and construction project teams. I have worked on Sanral Construction Projects since 2011, and in the past 10 years, I have developed my career as an expert in highly complex road and bridge construction projects. For my last employer Gibb Pty Ltd, I worked on the R72 section 3 and 4 for four years (2016-2020) which was delivered on time, under budget, and successful with no premature failure at an estimated value of R630m. During this period, I was able to contribute on a higher level and had the opportunity to communicate with a wider range of stakeholders on the project. I am currently deployed on the N3 Dardanelles contract Package I, which is estimated at approximately R1,5bn where my performance is at its highest level to date. With my skillset I believe that I can contribute and perform at the expected level and with learning while being in the position, I could exceed the expectations of my colleagues and mentors. My Curriculum Vitae provides further details of my function as a project team member. I am passionate about working on national roads under the jurisdiction of Sanral during my development and work at this level of influence would allow me to add more value to the industry. With my experience and my ability to learn, I am confident that I can contribute positively to the efforts of the organization in terms of the company’s vision, mission, and core values. Thank you for taking the time to review and consider my application. I am keen for the chance to attend an interview for this position and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Timothy Keenen Solomons
