I am Thandokazi Jantjies, a very enthusiastic , hardworking and ambitious person that loves calculations and has a great passion for the environment. I am studying BSc. majoring in Statistics and Geography which is a combination of mathematics and environmental studies. I chose this course because one day, I want to see myself as a statistician/spatial statistician or statistical analyst to solve the real life problems through the use of formulas in academia,industries, healthcare,etc. In addition, chose statistics because I love working with numbers and mathematics , I enjoy collecting, analyzing, presenting masses of numerical data and to also find solutions of real life problems through mathematics or mathematical dealings. This is reason I would like to further my studies in statistics. I also have excellent communication skills and leadership that enables me to communicate and network easily with other people. I work very well with people regardless of the circumstances. As I was a mentor in 2018 - A Gateway mentor in the University of the Free State, whereby we were assisting the first year students from their registrations at the beginning of the year as well as to help them adjust at the university and to get through their first year with very good grades as we would be trying to let them settle well. I would also tutor during Saturdays or school holidays, learners from grade 10-12 in mathematics and I am currently a Bio-statistics tutor in the University of the Free State, and was a Business Calculations (EPCM) tutor from February to June 2019. Lastly, in 2019, I'm a Gateway Faculty leader for the Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Free State, whereby I am basically a mediator between the faculty and the students/ mentors and the coordinator. My technical skills may include, the Computer literacy skills in Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint,access and internet. As well as the computer programming skills in R-studio, SAS, visual studio, c# and ArcGIS.
