I have a BA degree with majors in English and Linguistics that provides me with the necessary theory related to language and the practice thereof. I completed my degree on a part-time basis while being employed full time at the North-West University (NWU). I am fully bilingual (English L1/Afrikaans L2) and have been working as a freelance language practitioner since November 2016. The latter, over five years of academic language editing, has refined my ability to check written text for accuracy, spelling and grammar and deliver feedback with necessary changes within the applicable time frames. Throughout this time, I have assisted various postgraduate students to hone their English writing and communication skills, which, consequently, has helped me develop my teaching and communication skills.
