I am currently unemployed. I worked as Safety Officer in various industries; that includes construction, manufacturing, mining, petroleum and rail. I worked as SHE Coordinator in my last employer in a quarry environment, I pride myself of the achievements. Our organisation had achieved 94.02% for safety audit and 98.25% for environmental audit. We’ve been awarded for “Top Independent Performer 2018” for Health and Safety by ASPASA (Aggregate and Sand Poducers of South Africa). Safety to me is not only about a star or a rating on the wall but, its’ about culture change. It’s the way of life. With more than five years working as a Safety Officer, my role is to make sure that a company is conducting its’ business in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations that pertain to its particular industry; as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and international standards. Having exposed to different environments, it has accelerated my professional growth exponentially. There is both an ethical component and a pragmatic component to compliance; a role that is crucial in helping organizations manage risk, maintain a positive repution, and avoid lawsuits. I am in charge not just with keeping a company’s business dealings ethically sound and legally pristine, but with educating the entire company and instituting practices that will ensure the highest possible level of compliance. My experience and personal attribute are constituted by a solid educational foundation and a passion for workplace safety. I am extremely enthusiastic about my role at focusing on reducing workplace accidents and would welcome the opportunity to impart my knowledge.
