Motivational Letter for Professional Mobility – Ronald Gurslave Marshall During the past 28 years, I have worked in the Rubber, Plastics, Chemical and Lubrication Industry, as Supplier or Service Provider, Manufacturer and as Customer. These four sectors of Business have offered me opportunities to be involved from Shop floor level to Executive Management level, in different companies. During the early years of my career, I was member of the production and product development team at Dunlop Industrial products. Our responsibility was from “Idea/Conception stage” of a new product, to material selection, compliance to standards (SABS, DIN), environmental requirements, product design, production requirements and production specifications for going to market. Dunlop’s customer base, at the time, included Telkom, Silverton Engineering, Eskom, Transnet, VW, Ford, BMW and small companies. In Dunlop, I was trained in Implementation and Evaluation of the ISO 9000 Quality Management System. My responsibility then changed from Product Development to Compliance: ISO 9000 Implementation, Certification. I had two of the three Dunlop Industrial Product Manufacturing Plants in South Africa inside my scope of responsibility, and managed both towards full ISO 9000 Certification, issued by SABS. During the last 17 years, at Klüber Lubrication South Africa, my career spanned three different jobs. Initially, being responsibility for the Klüber Chemie business Unit, I managed the production facility and development of customized release agents for the Polymer Industry. At the end of 2010, Klüber achieved 93% Market share in the South African Poly-urethane Industry for Release Agents – our customer base included four Feltex Fehrer Manufacturing Plants and Bumbo International, a Premium supplier of Baby products worldwide and numerous smaller manufacturing plants. A Klüber Head Quarters decision was made that release agent marketing and supply, were not our core business. More focused was required in Project Management of Supplying Specialized Lubricants to the manufacturing industry. I took the role as Project Manager – to ensure that Klüber Lubrication South Africa has a Sustainable Project Management System, supported by a CRM system. I coordinated local and sub-Sahara projects with my team of Sales Engineers. During the period from 2010 to 2012, the Project Team received the Award for Best Nominal Growth and Best Absolute Growth in the Cement, Mining and Power Generation Market segments in the Klüber Lubrication Group World Wide. During this period, Successful and Sustainable Dealership Development was created in South Africa, Zambia, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana. In mid-2013, I took on the responsibility as Director Sales and Marketing – heading up a Sales organization, to further enhance our footprint as the Leader in Speciality Lubricants, achieving above average growth, from 2013 to 2018. I focused on increasing Brand Awareness, Internally: Brand Loyalty with employees and Externally: Exhibitions, Tradeshows, Customer In-house Training/Tech days. Klüber exhibited for the first time in 2014 and then again in 2016 at the Largest Industrial Show in Africa: Electra Mining Africa, and also at Africa Rail, WinDaba Africa, Kwa-Zulu Natal Industrial and Technical Exhibition and Energy Efficiency Convention. I implemented a Lead Management System, supporting qualified leads from exhibitions. Commercial road maps were developed and implemented for the Entity and for the Sales Engineers, ensuring Market Segment focus and supporting the GDP growth in our nine provinces and for business development in the different regions in South Africa. Key drivers were Gross Profit margins, Net Profit margins and overall Revenue growth requirements in line with goals and objectives from Head Office. In mid-2018 my career with Klüber ended, by mutual agreement. I am now professionally mobile and seek a challenging opportunity to leverage my Managerial and Leadership skills, Industrial Experience, Customer Network, Production Expertise and Market Intelligence to enhance, current and future products and services of a Company.
