I am a Medical Microbiologist and strategist who is passionate about infectious diseases and vaccine development as well as professional and leadership development. My greatest strengths are medical research, communication, and writing skills. I am a reviewer in the journal of Antimicrobial Resistance & Infection Control – BMC. I have an MSc in Medicine (Med Micro) and a Ph.D. (Med Micro) from the University of Cape Town. I am currently a Clinical Support Manager/Survey of Antibiotic Resistance Africa Regional Lead at the Department of Infectious Diseases - Anti-infectives at GlaxoSmithKline. I am involved in conducting antibiotic surveillance studies in various countries in order to track antibiotic resistance, help develop guidelines, and promote appropriate antibiotic prescription for community-acquired respiratory tract infections.
