I am a medical doctor (MBBCh) with a vast array of experience in clinical research, scientific writing, general clinical medicine and public health. My skills include leadership, management and mentorship. In addition I have many years of experience as a general practitioner. I am passionate about health promotion, caring for patients using evidence based medicine as well as training clinical staff on the fundamentals of clinical research including the inclusiveness of communities in research participation, health promotion and advancing public health. My clinical research experience is more than a decade and included HIV, TB treatment, TB prevention and COVID-19 research. The projects that I worked in included novel TB diagnostics and TB prevention vaccines. Furthermore I have a Masters in Public Health. My experience as a General Practitioner spans a decade and includes working as a locum as well as an independant GP. The ability to work as a GP locum allowed be to work across the Johannesburg area and to experience the varying demography and epidemiology of diseases in the various regions. I am a dedicated clinician, who is flexible and works well under pressure.
