I joined the South African Air Force on 04 January 1989 as a permanent force member in the mustering Aircraft Instruments. After my Basic Military Training I was stationed at 68 Air School as an Aircraft Instruments Apprentice doing Basic Workshop Orientation at Lyttleton Technical College. From there I was stationed at 68 Air School for Trade Theory training. I was transferred to Air Force Base Pietersburg to complete the rest of my Aircraft Instruments Apprentice training at 89 Combat Flying School. After successfully completing my trade evaluation, I was staffed at 89 Combat Flying School Instrument Section, where the servicing of the Cheetah D was carried out. In April 1993, I was retrenched from the South African Air Force. I was approached to join AMG, subsidiary of DENEL Aviation. I joined AMG on 01 March 1996, as an Aircraft Instruments Technician at Air Force Base Louis Trichardt. My responsibility was turn around activities, solving snags & performing servicings on the Cheetah C & D aircraft, as well as doing I-Level maintenance on the avionic equipment. My last Unit was Air Force Base Makhado, where I was working as an Avionic Technician on the HAWK MK 120 LIFT aircraft at 3 ASU. My responsibility was turn around activities, solving snags &performing servicings on the HAWK MK 120 LIFT aircraft. Furthermore, I was also responsible for training Instrument Apprentices through lectures and presentations and was also responsible for testing Avionic artisans and issuing competencies. In March 2013, I was retrenched from AMG, subsidiary of DENEL Aviation. On 1 June 2013 I joined Aerosud (Paramount Aerospace Systems) My responsibilities are turn around activities, modifications, solving snags & performing servicings on the Mirage F1AZ aircraft. I also did servicings on Machetti SF260 aircraft. From June 2018 I am working on Mirage F1 CR, CT & B model aircraft. My responsibilities are turn around activities, solving snags, carry out modifications & performing servicings. This is for both avionic and mechanical tasks. I have engine run competency on the ATAR 09K50 engine. I was retrenched in December 2023. My SACAA license for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Avionics Cat W, was issued on 29 January 2024.
