After +10 years in HR generalist and Services in various industries, I have come to understand myself and my capability. I am comfortable to work within policies and procedures approved by corporate, but I have been able to develop my instincts to identify opportunities for improvement and do contribute to the updating and re-design of policies, as per new and improved working procedures. I have been involved in the company-wide implementation of Leadership systems and processes, whereupon we trained all Managers in a newly designed cultural System for People and Business Process Frameworks. All of this was then reflected and integrated back into the daily HR Administration and Services that we continuously had to adjust to suit the business. The great thing about havingworkiedfor one of the biggest Gold Mining Companies in the world is the honing of one’s professionalism as the standards are set and consistently implemented across all divisions. Working for the Regional Offices that service Continental Africa, I was also in a position to consult senior technical Vice and Senior Presidents of various technical and support functions. This gave me exposure to all aspects of their work as well. I have been involved in many intricate pieces of HR work, e.g. Induction Programs, Performance Management, Industrial Relations, Employee Assistance Programs, Leave Administration, Communication, Employment Contracts, Talent Acquisition, Terminations, EE Data Reports, BBBEE Balance Score Cards, WSP / ATR, Work permits for Expats in other companies, inter-company transfer of Employees, and Training. In these processes one is constantly gathering information, researching and compiling reports where one must diagnose problems, analyze the root cause of it and propose improvement to management.
