Without wishing to sound boastful, I feel that I come to you with a Transport background that is unique and distinctive from other applicants. I have all of the theoretical competencies required to do the job well, in particular, I want to highlight my ability to apply transport economic competencies to the task at hand. During the course of my Honours course, I have shown a particular aptitude for transport economic development related tasks in which I received three distinctions during the course and receiving top student honours during one of the course assessments. I am the only Transport economics Honours student in the department that challenged themselves by taking additional modules resulting in an unmatched modal understanding of road transport management, Maritime economics as well as Aviation economics. My other core strengths include, but are not limited to the following: Quantitative Management as a second undergraduate Major, which taught me advanced problem solving and optimization techniques. Understanding of Project Management processes. Able to work in an environment of change, challenge and deadlines due to being registered for the most honours courses in the department whilst simultaneously being a student-athlete at the national level. Proficient in Excel, MS projects and most MS Office software. Comfortable with R Language and conducting statistical inference techniques. Ability to conduct dense research and translate findings into valuable outputs, as well as clearly dissect and explain complex elements verbally and in writing. Leadership capabilities from captaining Maties Basketball for 3 years, as well as being invited to lead and co-ordinate divisions in university committees.
