Dear Sir / Ma’am I wish to apply for the advertised position of ‘entry level surveyor/geoscientist.’ I believe I’am well suited for the job: • Four year Geology degree • One year experience in geophysical surveys including the collection and processing of multibeam, single beam, side scan and sub-bottom profiling data, and the collection of core samples • Competent using Hypack, ArcMap, QGIS, Excel, Word. Experience programming using Python. • Skippers license valid to 40nm offshore • Commercial diving license • Heavy duty driving license (bigger boats sometime require larger vehicles to tow) • A high level of physical fitness (triathlon junior world champion) • First Aid certification However, I’am South African currently working in Cape Town, and would need to apply for a work visa.
