Having worked for Petro-Chemical Industry - Sasol for 23years (5years now as a Learning Practitioner and past 18years as a Senior Analytical Chemist) and being an Account Manager for the Pilot Plants, Michael now supports the Line Managers to evaluate competence and identifies gaps by using the standard competency and proficiency criteria as a guide. Compiles the training matrix and updates when changes occur, then maintains it. Assists Line to develop PDP’s together with the employees. Develops a training plan for the employees. Assists specific area in developing gap closing strategies. Facilitates formal and on-the-job learning and coordinates the safe work procedures and planned job observations. Assists to develop, revise and update the learning materials as needed. Confirms successful completion of learning interventions. Updates and keeps employee learning records. Tracks and monitors progress against agreed learning plans. Investigates the deviations from the learning plans and agrees on remedial learning required with Line Managers and employees. Supports the Line Managers with competency declaration process. Supports the employees with the Career Path in preparation for progressions and promotions. Supports the Line with employee/learners training requirements. Provides learning feedback to relevant stakeholders – Line Managers, Human Resource and Skills Development Forums. In 2003, Michael worked as a team member with the Chinese-team in the Butanol Project that Sasol commissioned in Sasolburg, South Africa. In 2007, Michael was flown abroad (Middle East, Qatar) for six months as a Project Team member in a Partnership Project between OryxGTL and Sasol. His functions were overseeing that the right mechanisms and commissioning of a new Gas-Liquid Plant - the delivery and analysis of samples were adhered to and correctly implemented. From 2011 – 2015 Michael was deployed in Mozambique at Sasol Petroleum International – Temane Project as Laboratory Technician to run the Laboratory. In the process he was training new Trainee-Analysts with daily analysis. Michael is 45years old and a very friendly person to work with. He is a self-starter, very innovative and a strong reliable employee that achieves results with high attention to detail. He can work individually and can also be team player.
