I completed my Bachelors Degree in Consumer Science at the University of the Free State in 2015, where I served and worked in many different roles and environments ranging from team leader to general organizer. I have organized and coordinated a variety of events and learned the art of effective communication. I worked and studied at the same time, learning to manage time effectively.   I consider myself to be a very diligent worker and a ‘multitasker’. I enjoy organizing and doing admin, handling and heading tasks and developing effective strategies and systems. I consider myself a self-starter and can work independently as well as proficiently with others. I have a strong work ethic and take meticulous action when working on a project. I enjoy doing research, and strive to learn more and gain more knowledge and skills in order to improve myself and my work. I pay close attention to detail and have excellent communication skills; verbal and written. I am easily adaptable and able to work under pressure in different situations. In 2016 I got introduced to my first full-time job as assistant to a fashion designer. Skills that were developed extensively throughout this job were the ability to multitask, effective problem solving and communication as well as initiative taking. I also learned to develop a customer orientated approach. I was partly responsible for garment fitting, garment manufacturing and design as well as buying of all design material. I have also worked as an assistant/intern for a very successful marketing team at Mimosa Mall, Bloemfontein where I acquired great experience in event planning and coordination, booking and preparing outfits for photoshoots, assisting in all administrative tasks, helping with layout and design set while being the primary support for all teams involved. I am currently working for a start-up company which I consider as a fast-paced, high-pressure working environment; my problem-solving skills are tested and developed daily and I have learned to adapt to different situations and scenarios. Here I have been entrusted with a great deal of responsibility in different areas of the business and often take initiative doing research in order to equip myself with the necessary knowledge in order to succeed. I work closely with manufacturers to ensure that deadlines and delivery dates are met, and go the extra mile to ensure that everything happens within the allocated budgets. I am in charge of the marketing department where I’m driven by setting goals and achieving them.
