I am currently working as a Data Manager at The Aurum Institute seconded to National Department of Health. My role is to lead the national quality assurance, monitoring, and evaluation of the Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis programme at nine provinces in South Africa. This includes providing technical input into M&E tools, database design, analysis, visualization and interpretation of data. As part of ensuring production of quality and utilization of data, I conduct activities such as designing and conducting data quality assessments. I provide capacity building through developing support and guidance documents, standard operating procedures and provide training to internal and external stakeholders. My activities include tracking and evaluating health programmes, designing and contributing to M&E guidelines, health policy and standard operating procedures. I support health care workers through mentoring and training on correct use of data collection tools. I have a Degree majoring in Psychology and Economics with the University of the Western Cape. My qualification has equipped me with the skills of analysing and paying attention to detail. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Management: Public Sector Development specialising in Monitoring & Evaluation from Witwatersrand University. The course covered subjects such as Monitoring Systems, Evaluation and Analytic Methods among others. I am well equipped to develop proposals, design M&E frameworks, develop monitoring and evaluation plans and manage M&E projects. I also possess a Higher Certificate in Management obtained from the Foundation for Professional Development. This has given me the opportunity to learn and gain experience in management, including managing a team to meet project objectives. The course has empowered and exposed me to skills and knowledge one needs to work in a diverse environment. I manage 8 Data Capturers based in centres of excellence in 6 provinces. My support to them includes ensuring data quality and use through data cleaning and analysis. I am a confident, dedicated and hardworking individual who perseveres to achieve organisation objectives and make a positive impact.
