I started my career with the leading retailer in South Africa, namely Woolworths and then, to broaden my experience and exposure, moved into the food manufacturing sector. Throughout my career I have ensured that I have chosen facilities such as Sea Harvest and Excellent Meat, that have strong links to the larger retailers, e.g. Woolworths, giving me insight to this sector at all times. Working in these facilities have ensured that the audits undertaken have been of the highest level and have offered me exposure to 2 to 3 external audits annually. Since working in the food manufacturing environment, I have always held a managerial position, and as a highly-motivated and results orientated manager, have enjoyed great success with the teams I have managed. My experience is extensive and diverse – from implementation of initial quality control systems at retail and production level, managing NPD, project management and commercial interface, implementation of HACCP and ISO 22 000, to planning and implementing large factory (construction) upgrades. I am a proficient all-around management practitioner with a highly applicable background and exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and team-building skills. I offer more than 26 years of solid and hands-on technical, production and quality, strategic and business experience.
