I, Lenayshini Lala, have been working in the field of investigation from 2004, when I became a Detective at the South African Police service. I have investigated different cases within criminal investigations. I have 17 years of experience in investigation and have worked in all fields of investigation. Knowledge is power and I strive to implement theoretical knowledge during my investigations. During these years I have gained immense knowledge with insurance investigations when I was employed at Discovery Life. Part of my duties were investigation and auditing into Health claims including conducting surveillance. There were different programs for preliminary investigation and for the actual report writing. I have immense knowledge of life products within Discovery, and I usually liaised with claim assessors, occupational therapist, company lawyers, including external Fraud bodies and the South African Police Service, with the National Prosecuting Authorities. Throughout my working career, I managed to network with people in similar fields in order to conduct my investigations. Over the past 17 years, I have acquired both experiential and theoretical knowledge in the field of investigation and I am currently studying Law. I do have a Bachelor of Arts Degree that I acquired from the University of South Africa and a Forensic Auditing/Investigation Diploma through the University of South Africa. I am currently registered to complete my CFE accreditation. I have also completed various courses through the ACFE, which are Digital Forensics, Data Analysis and Handwriting Examination. Within the companies that I worked, I have completed training in FAIS; Anti money laundering; Treat Customer Friendly; FICA; FSB compliance training to mention a few.
