I am a hard working individual, who is self-motivated and a good team player. I enjoy challenges, confident, pro-active, and assertive at both professional and social level. I have ability to demonstrate personal commitment, strength and a willingness to be personally accountable for decisions. I am competent with problem solving abilities and decision making skills. My strong analytical and technical skills enable me to work with diverse group of people at all levels and achieve required results. I am capable of multitasking whilst focusing to effective time management and risk avoidance. My systemic approach to programmes enhances productivity. I believe obtaining the financial assistance will assist me in pursuing more knowledge on the environmental field, so that I can contribute in future in the environmental management field as well as in the strategic planning field which GIS has equipped me with. In my Honors year of study I had the opportunity of doing some work for the GCRO through GIS where we investigated transport systems in Gauteng. This project intensified my love and passion for GIS and the power that it has. The opportunity of working with a client and delivering such a project also improved my knowledge in the field. In 2020 I have had the honor of working for Glencore Wonderkop smelter where I was employed as an environmental officer and acted as an environmental coordinator. In this position I was able to apply my knowledge onto the field where I was able to create and implement environmental compliance policy and protection procedures. Working in this fast growing paced and constantly evolving environment gave me the opportunity to grow and to be able to think and act fast on my feet in order to prevent environmental damage that would be long lasting and challenging to mitigate. Working also exposed me the interest I have when it comes to environmental compliance and policy making when I saw how environmental incidents can be taken for granted because of the lack of knowledge of the long lasting impacts these incidents could have.
