I am a Computational Astrophysics Masters Student at the University of Western Cape. My earliest projects were on the use of supervised learning algorithms such as decision trees to classify tabular data. My current interests (thesis and research paper on the way) are in the use of unsupervised learning algorithms such as clustering and anomaly detection on large image datasets. The primary focus is in the use of deep learning for feature extraction, this gave me experience using tools such as self-supervised learning and tricks such as transfer learning. I have data preparation skills, data cleaning and exploration, unsupervised learning, deep learning, representation learning, clustering and anomaly detection, python and pytorch, analytical skills and I am able to learn and adapt to new problems and projects.
