I am the founder and CEO of Conté Africa, founded in 2014. A world-class Creative Designer and Art Director, with 11 years of experience in the Creative industry. Contè bold mission is to build up African Creative Individuals in their respective sectors, by providing opportunities for them to enhance their skills and make a growing profit. The Agency has built up an impressive portfolio and enviable track record spanning Design, strategy, publications and events, all through collaboration and partnering with other like-minded individuals and organisations in South Africa. Having obtained her qualifications from Parsons the New School for Design in New York, she has grown to be sophisticated in understanding the Creative culture’s needs by working with lecturers who are industry leaders in their own right. Charmaine’s ability to bridge the gap between business and arts is further demonstrated by her founding a pub- lication company (Conté Magazine) that has graced the shelves, café’s and Galleries of New York, Kenya, Ghana, London and Los Angeles. The brand is growing rapidly and the motivation behind it, is finding ways to continue to globalise African Creatives and give them more platforms to tell their own narrative to the world.
