John has over 23 years of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience. Since February 1996 he has been driving Strategic Sourcing principles whilst in service with the Mining Industry – Kumba Resources, the Gauteng Provincial Government - GSSC and Transnet Ltd. John has a proven track record of meeting sustainable savings targets, successful implementation of change management initiatives, seasoned ability to identify opportunities and finding creative solutions to problematic areas of any commodity. He has proven himself to be an asset to all the employers he worked for. Driving value out of the Supply Chain, Optimising Processes and Improving Functionality is key to enhanced SCM directives and KPI’s. He enforces SCM Principles, Drives Change, Governance and Ethical Procurement Processes with passion and vigour ensuring Stakeholder commitments are met and Compliance are Successfully fulfilled to through-out he process. John successfully completed this achievement in December 2010 and was granted full membership in MCIPS (UK). During his service with Kumba Resources – February 1996 to January 2003 – John has successfully assisted management to achieve required savings targets by focusing on commodity specific TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) enhancements, improving production capacity and efficiency and provide the foundation for a continuous improvement culture that drives change through-out the organisation. Some of his attributes are: Performance of Procurement Management; Supply Chain Management & Demand Management rapid assessments and development of performance improvement plans. Development of leadership material in the Supply Chain management field and conducting client presentations and workshops to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer.
