I am a South African 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 with 𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in both the governmental and non-governmental sector of Environmental Sciences and Biodiversity. I have an Honours degree in 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 which showcases my adoration and selfless devotion to biodiversity; ecosystem restoration and conservation. I integrate my skills and intuitive understanding of ecology to coordinate rehabilitation efforts of threatened or degraded ecosystems. I have contributed to 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴; 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻; 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵. Some examples include: -Monitoring and documenting Critical Habitat Species of succulent plants that fed into the IUCN Red List database (SANBI, 2019) -Rehabilitation of degraded fragments of ecosystems in the Overberg area as Rehabilitation Specialist (GNEC, 2022-2023) -Assisting with the propagation and reintroduction into natural habitats of 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢 (SANBI, 2019) -Management and horticultural coordination of Nursery homing threatened plant species (GNEC, 2022-2023) -Publication of Hons Thesis (2018) and contribution of research on Paleoecology and wetland ecology (2021) It is my goal to approach complex environmental issues with scientific-based solutions while including my passion and innovative insight to these problems. I thrive in a work environment where my unique input is valued and where multifaceted approaches are welcome. I believe in a layered approach to ecological restoration by funnelling down a multitude of ideas and expertise. I have an affinity to make people feel included and valued when working in a team. This makes me a good team leader capable of managing groups and projects. I enjoy keeping my skills sharp by hiking, documenting plants as a hobby, and spending time in nature. Unique approaches to complex environmental dilemmas is what excites me. More so, when it contributes to our understanding of ecology and how we can all play a distinctive role in protecting our biodiversity.
