The work that has shaped my knowledge and working ethics was: Denel Aviation as Production Coordination and Control. Because of the time frame that all was supposed to be ready for the downtimes, I had to work outside the system (SAP) to get planning, purchasing and manufacturing done in time for the complete workpacks to be in store ready for the grounding of the Rooivalk. I also started the fast lane procedures to get a part quickly done for testing on the Rooivalk. The drawings, PPS, materials, treatments had to be created and done up to final inspection and ready to be installed. Autonumerics, the time I was managing the business to control the work outstanding and sourcing for new work. In the month and a half that I was managing the business, I initiated new orders of close to R1.5 million. Movosa to repair and install egg grading machines. Mechanical, electrical and sometimes electronical fault finding was vital and repairs had to be done asap, sometimes after hours and overnight. I’ve taught myself the trade of plumbing, electrical repair, single phase and sometimes 3 phase, installation and fault finding, repair of normal geysers and gas geysers.
