Good Day, I would like to apply for any freelance opportunities. A copy of my Resume, can be requested and will be sent to the individuals upon request. With about 19 years of Automotive Component Manufacturing Experience, I am especially experienced with Various Management Systems, including Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering Systems. I have worked with several different types of metals, some of which include Hot- and Cold Formed Springs Steels, Cast Iron, Forged Metals, Sheet Metals as well as Metal Pressings/Stampings (Mild Grade Steels, Stainless Steel Grades as well as Aluminium). My most recent position was with CRH-Africa based in Wynberg, Sandton who manufactured metal pressings, welded- and assembled automotive metal seat structures (both Manual- & Power Variants). I was employed as their Quality Manager. I always ensured successful certification to the SABS ISO 9001:2008 Standard as well as the ISO/TS 16949:2009 (specific to the Automotive Industry) Standard. Special focus was given to ensuring conformance to Customer Specific Requirements, Legislative Requirements as well as Regulatory Requirements of both Quality- and Environmental, Health & Safety Standards. I have also dealt with various different Material Handling Systems i.e. Medium- to Heavy Forklift Trucks, High-rack Trucks, Overhead Cranes & Hydraulic Lifting Equipment. In this role as Quality Manager, I later became the stand-in for the Plant Manager at JHB. I was selected as Management Representative who oversaw several Departments, i.e. Production, HR, Purchasing, Maintenance, Programming & Engineering Departments. Part of this role was to compile the Organization’s BOS (Business Operating System) performance reports which was fed into Management Review. I was also selected as the Customer Representative dealing with Customer Satisfaction- and Complaints directly. I have therefore been exposed to various different levels of staffing, from Shop Floor Staff (both Unionised and non-Unionised) to Middle Management, to Senior Management (General Management & Director Level). I have also dealt with Various Metal Suppliers & Customers directly. Due to my excellent communications skills and the ability to read, write & speak Afrikaans, English, Zulu (iSiZulu) fluently - and a little bit of German, I was always involved with Machine Breakdowns, Preventive Maintenance, Quality Failures, Incidents at Customers, etc. I.e. If a machine broke-down or the Organization ran out of material, I was there to aid in the investigation and resolution of the problems at hand – even if it meant staying till the midnight hours to get the process back to a stable and reproducible level. When Customer Complaints or Warranty Claims arose, i.e. I physically disassembled an Automotive Seat Structure at the Customer’s premises to establish the reason(s) why i.e. the Seat Motor was faulty, noisy or seized operation completely (was it a voltage overload, incorrect assembly, or incorrect programming). Sufficed to say, I am hands-on, young and energetic with a single mind-set: Give the Customer what he wants! That’s what he’s paying for. It’s that Simple! Thanks to my extensive knowledge of Shop Floor Operations and the interlinking of supporting functions, I was selected as the CRH-Africa Group of Companies’ Senior Lead Auditor who audited Suppliers and Internal Processes. I have audited all departments of all branches including Wynberg-JHB, Deal Party-PE as well as the main Press Shop based in Korsten, PE (who produces around 3 Million Metal Pressings a month) highlighting risks. With Continuous Improvement & Kaizen Techniques I have introduced at the various branches, I have not only saved the Organization substantial amounts of money, I have also reduced avoidable scrap, reduced cycle times and increased the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) noticeably! CRH-Africa Directors has opted to close-down the Wynberg-JHB based operations and all Production- and Maintenance Facilities had to be relocated to Port Elizabeth at the end of April 2018. A total of 153 (One Hundred and Fifty Three) Employees have been retrenched during this time. From May 2018 to the end of July 2019, I was the only employee that remained at the Wynberg Operations. In this time, I was tasked to relocate the Production- and Maintenance Facilities from JHB to PE. These included the Financial Transfer of assets between Plants (as well as disposal), Overseeing Machine Decommissioning, Physical Machine Rigging and arranging special Abnormal Transport. I then oversaw the re-commissioning of the machines in Port Elizabeth where I was subsequently selected as Project Leader to oversee the Start-up of the Production Lines and training production staff (one-on-one) to operate each machine. Once complete, I was tasked to monitor Customer Satisfaction at the Organization’s Customers in the Northern Regions of Gauteng (i.e. Nissan, Ford Motor Company & BMW-SA). Sadly, I was retrenched at the end of July 2019 as the target was achieved sooner than expected. I am therefore available to start immediately. I have included a number of referrals in my Curriculum Vitae. Please feel free to contact them directly. I also attach a Letter of Referral from the Commercial Manager in Port Elizabeth. Please feel free to contact me at any time, should you wish to invite me for an interview for the position. I very much look forward to your call. Many Thanks for your time & Kind Regards, Henry Roux (***)-***-****
