Dr Brand joined Boston City Campus in August 2018, and has since May 2019 been involved with Boston's Academic Planning & Development Unit (APDU). He assists, when so required, with the Facilitation, Assessment, Moderation & Programme Development of Modules at various qualification levels. He holds a PhD in Ethical Leadership from The Da Vinci Institute, an MBA from the University of the Free State (UFS), and two (2) National Diploma’s respectively in Management, from Technikon SA (now UNISA), as well as in Joint & Multi-National Operations (Military related - Warfare at the Operational level) from the SA National War College (SANWC). Dr Brand served in the SA Navy for 27 years, attained the commissioned rank of Commander (Cdr), and specialised in Education, Training and Development (ETD). Dr Brand is a qualified Master Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator, Evaluator, Coach and Mentor, and is also a qualified 'train-the-trainer' in respect of the Full Range Leadership Programme.
