I am an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist and holder of the Bachelor of Technology: Engineering: Civil degree from the University of Johannesburg. I am a Registered Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng.) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). After obtaining a National Diploma in Civil Engineering in November 2005, I joined Johannesburg Water (SOC) LTD on 1 Jul 2005 and I was appointed as a Civil Engineering Project Inspector until I got promotion on 1 October 2011 to the position of Project Engineer which later was named Project Manager. In March 2016, I was seconded to work at the Design Office of Johannesburg Water (SOC) LTD as a Design Engineer until. I have, after completing my S3 studies in Civil Engineering at the Technikon Northern Gauteng in November 1995, joined Stewart Scott Consulting Engineers as an Engineering Technician. I was assigned to do design and construction management of roads, bridges & culverts, water and housing projects. I later joined Spoornet (Transnet Limited) on 1st October 2002 until 30 June 2005 as a Maintenance/Technical Supervisor. I was assigned to supervise personnel of the Building, Bridges and Structures Maintenance Depot and supervised 2 Technical Officers on water, sanitation and buildings infrastructure projects. In order to be in line with the ECSA’s Personal Development Plan policy, I attended the following courses: NOSA Occupational Health, Safety, Microsoft Office Programmes, PRINCE 2 (APM Group, the Netherlands), Diploma in Management Development, CARD, Technocad design Package, SAICE Contracts Management and Design courses, University of Pretoria: Water & Sanitation Design, Environmental Legal Requirements, Project Management theory and Microsoft Projects, Water pressure management, pipeline system design and Mananager’s Leadership Development Programme.
