I am driven by my passion to transform and change the lives of people. My personal quote is ‘you cannot come into my space and leave the same way.’ I affect change in two areas; health care and by coaching and mentoring. In health care, I hold an MSc cum laude from the University of Natal and Diploma in Human Resource Management as well as various certifications including an EDP from the University of Cape Town Graduate School for Business, a MDP from Gordon Institute of Business Science and a Diploma in Negotiation Skills. I find that all of my formal educational qualifications contribute and consolidate my skills to transform health care and people. With 20 years of wide-ranging experience in HIV clinical research, I set up one of the first HIV Drug Resistance laboratories using sequencing technology focusing on drug trials for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in South Africa. After joining Roche Diagnostics, I was assigned as the project leader for Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) that resulted in the National implementation of EID testing for all infants at 6 weeks of life. Public sector experience extends to setting up the first government (National Dept of Science and Technology) funded initiative to fund HIV research (South African HIV Aids Research Program) with a mandate to have tangible products as an outcome of the research. My corporate experience includes Public Sector Key Account Management, Sales and Marketing Management, Strategy development, Tender Management in the public sector, sales via distributors in Export, Business Development and entrepreneurship by setting up my own businesses I have managed to contribute to live my purpose. Having worked my way up to various Executive levels been learnt and have been mentored to have key leadership traits which has allowed me to coach and mentor at various levels of the hierarchy. These leadership qualities has been further entrenched by serving as a Board Member of MSQ Health and the 3 subsidiaries Akacia Medical, MSQ Diagnostics and MSQ Pharma) as well as being an Exco member.
