Started off working as a Teletype Setter (TTS) operator for SAAN newspapers in 1972 – in the days of hot metal. Progressed to typesetting magazines and annual reports. Worked for many years for Beith Process (Repro house, now called Beith Digital). After having my third child, went freelance for 20 years, working on anything to do with print. My main clients were publishers (novels and educational books) and communication companies (producing Annual Reports, Financial Results booklets, financial adverts). Worked for a printing company in 2007 in New Zealand – then the World crashed in 2008 and I returned to SA. Back to freelancing, then one of my clients offered me a full-time position as a Senior Typesetter. I accepted and have worked for them for 10 years. Now retired, returned to freelance. Opened my company – Charlie Brown DTP (Pty) Ltd. Skills – an eye for detail, excellent spelling (can spot a mistake a mile away), proficient in print production.
