I am a young visionary, well rounded and innovative promising engineer with a genuine interest in chemical engineering. I am flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities at the same time, all of these key performance area make me believe that I would be a strong candidate for your vacancy. As a driven individual who wants to progress, I am now looking to work in an energetic and performance-driven environment where talent is not overlooked. One of my strongest points is my self-motivation which allows me to perform well under pressure and against aggressive deadlines in any pressurised environment. Being a highly analytical thinker I am able to quickly identify, scrutinise, improve and streamline complex work processes. Currently, I am working but as a shift foreman at Evander Gold Mines but I also worked as an Intern at CPUT-Technology Innovation Agency on a multi-disciplinary, inter-institutional project funded by Water Research Commission entitled ‘’Nanoparticles for the treatment of industrial scale effluents particularly the removal of organic contaminants from textile effluents using nano-TiO2’’. In this role I was responsible for providing scientific expertise on using nano-TiO2 to treat textile effluents, assisting with the literature and market review for the WRC project, undertaking chemical analysis of both water and waste-water, devising and conducting experiments, Interpreting the analytical results and advise on treatment processes, assessing conditions at water and waste-water treatment plants, Writing and presenting technical reports on water and waste-water treatment plants, communicating results to the scientific community via published papers, presenting ongoing work and findings to colleagues at academic / industry conferences, summarizing the nature of the research, the methodology and findings, Liaising with service providers – ordering equipment and chemicals and project management. All of these tasks require attention to detail under the pressure of tight deadlines.
